About Oaks
Oaks is a community located in Montgomery County at the intersection of the Schuylkill River and Perkiomen Creek. The town was named after the designer of the of the Schuylkill River Canal, Thomas Oakes, in 1825. Later, a stop on the Philadelphia-Reading Railroad facilitated continued industrial growth in the region. Today, the area has grown to a dense Philly suburb with some special attributes. The large scale industrial buildings house one-of-kind attractions, shopping, and entertainment. This Main Line town has become a burgeoning hotspot for events, hotels, dining, and activities, drawing visitors exploring nearby Valley Forge National Historical Park.
